The Queen is back
WAP VIDEO Featuring Meg Thee Stallion
The Queen is back, where’s her crown at? The Bronx legend of Cardi B is a hood cinderella story. The impressive route that Cardi has taken to earn her spot as one of the most talked about female rappers in the game was a difficult one. She is celebrated for her honesty and for being herself whether speaking to Bernie Sanders or Angela Yee.
People seem to either really love Cardi B or seem to hate her. She is polarizing. For some reason she attracts a lot of criticism about her lyrics and her past. None of that has stopped her. I wouldn’t be surprised if I heard Cardi was one of the hardest working artist in the business. Her debut album, Invasion of Privacy came out in 2018 and won rap album of the year at the grammys, as well as BET award album of the year.
Two years laters I think fans are ready for a new Cardi album. W.A.P. her latest single featuring Meg Thee Stallion, has received criticism for apparently being too vulgar of a song. In my humble opinion, I think anyone who has ever heard any previous songs from these two dope artist would expect the song be vulgar. Not to mention this is hip hop. The genre with “bitches and hoes”, the genre that gave us Uncle Luke, Biggie Smalls, and “My Neck and My back” Cardi was just making a record that she liked, a song that was very hip hop.
I can’t wait to see what Cardi B does with this next project. There’s no date and I haven’t heard an album title but the W.A.P. single sounds like she’s ready to drop something and I’ll be waiting.
