COVER STORY: CONWAY THE MACHINE
The love for Conway The Machine grows with every release. May Block’s own general went from a Buffalo rapper to a Legendary rapper. Though the road was long, he has managed to gain respect from the most respected rappers in the culture. As big of a Griselda fan as I am, it’s still hard for me to figure out who’s my favorite rapper. With Conway releasing his latest project La Maquina, it’s become even harder to make that decision.

La Maquina in Spanish means the machine or the maker. Very fitting. Conway is very creative and in my opinion, doesn’t make the same song twice. I’ve heard that people believe that a knock on him maybe that he raps on songs that sound the same. I don’t really believe that. There’s a lot of depth to Conway technically and personally. He has an amazing life story and raps better than most in this era.
Conway gets better with every album. I think his name is making more and more noise in the industry for the right reasons. One of my favorite songs on the project is KD, produced by Demond Price and Shane Lee Lindstrom. This is an example of his range. He can rap on a Trap beat and rap on something that Alchemist produced while still staying in his lane.
Conway released La Maquina on April 16th, 2021. The project features 2Chainz, Ludacris, J.I.D., and of course West and Benny. It is a Drum Work project, which is Conway The Machines Label and I’m still trying to figure who’s the best on Griselda.
