Icewear Vezzo is a Detroit legend soon to be crowned by the nation. Vezzo has been grinding for a long time in the midwest scene. He was once signed to the legendary Motown records. He left because of creative differences. Once he went independent he started to get more recognition.
Vezzo has a very distinct sound that he has created. The beats are hard but there’s something very underground about them. Vezzo has referred to music as basement sounding. I believe that the sound Vezzo has created, has the potential to be the next big wave. He already has collaborations with Lil Durk, Big Sean, Kodak Black, and Lil Baby.
His latest release is Rich Off Pints 3. The project features great production and a lot of slick talk from the Detroit rapper. The songs I go back to are On My Own, The Get Bacc Part 2, and the title track. Vezzo and Baby Face Ray seem like they’re really carving out their own lane in Detroit. The sound that they are pushing is beginning to go mainstream.
Vezzo seems to be getting some attention from some major movements in Hiphop. He was gifted a QC chain on the Chris Brown and Lil Baby tour. It was the announcement for Icewear Vezzo signing to Quality Control. It was very reminiscent of Kanye signing to Roc A Fella. Can’t wait to see where Vezzo takes his career.
