COVER STORY/RODDY RICCH
Roddy Ricch is living up to his potential. Many early fans will say they always knew that Roddy Ricch was a special artist. The 23-year-old artist just released his latest album Live Life Fast. The album shows the growth between his debut album Excuse Me For Being Anti Social and his latest effort. He started off the year promoting the single Late At Night which peaked at number 20 on the Billboard charts.
“The Album cover showing Roddy Ricch driving fast in a luxury car is very reminiscent of Nipsey Hussle’s Victory Lap cover“
On Live Life, Fast Roddy continues to show how talented he is as an artist the album ties each track together through interludes and the content that Roddy speaks on. On this project, Roddy Ricch is giving us insight into his transition from being an up-and-coming artist to a household name.
The Album cover showing Roddy Ricch driving fast in a luxury car is very reminiscent of Nipsey Hussle’s Victory Lap cover which Roddy also acknowledged as a homage to the late Crenshaw rap artist. The album features 21 savage and Kodak Black on a song entitled hibachi which is becoming one of my favorites. The project also features Gunna, Lil Baby, and more.
It’s clear to see the Future influences in Roddy Ricch. I’m still listening to it trying to decide what the project feels like overall. I will say I like the music. I wouldn’t say that the project has no skips but It definitely picks up after the 4th track and that could change for me. One of the highlights of the album is Murda One featuring Fivio Foreign. It’s interesting hearing Roddy on a drill beat.
Roddy Ricch is on his way to being a legendary artist and I’m interested to see how he rolls out the rest of this album and how he continues to grow as an artist. You can let me know what you think of Live Life Fast below
