Summer Walker is one of the premier R&B artists of the present day. Her content is very relatable. She has become the voice of this generation. He music is unapologetic and she knows how to get her feelings across without coming across like she’s crying on every song. The music she released on her first album Over It were the anthems of 2019.
By the time you’re reading this She has released her highly anticipated album and follows up to Over It entitled Still Over it. I love the title for the second album it tells you everything you need to know about Summer’s next project. It sounds like she’s staying in the same lane she was in in 2019.
We currently watching an R&B star rise. Summer is extremely influenced by artists like Drake. Which makes so much sense to me. She has even used the “if you're reading this" phrase from Drake’s project as a rollout for her project. We are watching her use those influences to influence the next generation of artists and amazing to see.
At this time the only single out is featuring J.T. called Ex For A Reason. I also like Summer’s rollout for the album. There’s a lot of hype around her name but they haven’t given away too much. Yet, people are still excited about the album. In New York City, there’s a glass case you can break that has the upcoming album on it. Fans can take turns trying to break the glass case that has a hard drive of Still Over it on it. In so many ways it’s very fitting for her brand.
I’m interested in seeing how her next project will affect the culture. People feel like they know Summer Walker because of how transparent she can be in her music as well as on social media. Her fans want to protect her and want to be there for her. They feel her pain and feel her joy. She control culture I can want to see what she does with it.
