So I was thinking about who's an artist that I can write about on here that I don't usually write about and that doesn't get a lot of shine, and of course, I'm always looking for recommendations for content, so if you guys have any ideas, let me know.
The artist that I was thinking about recently has had a career of wins and losses, but I just think it's interesting that he's getting his flowers now. He's getting his flowers from artists like G Herbo, and recently got his flowers from Friday.
I'm talking about Meek Mill. Meek Mill has been popping out with some verses that shows he's back in the hip-hop universe, aside from what he's tweeting, like strictly musically, there's a lot to be said about Meek Mill. some people love him, some people hate him you look at the Drake battle, you look at Twitter fingers, like those things are some moments he might not be able to get off your jacket, but I do believe that when you look back at his career, he has contributed a lot of things to the culture, positive things.
Dreams and Nightmares is a song in the culture that's never gonna go anywhere, and he could have really stopped there, but I think if you saw Meek's come up then you knew that it wasn't just gonna stop at Dreams and Nightmares. If you saw him doing his raps back in 2006, 2007 in Philly, then you knew that he was hungry and it wasn't just gonna stop there.
So I think his Magnum Opus is championships, clearly. I think that was the time when he really delivered a great album, a classic album. We’re looking at the songs, and he's coming off a lot of things. He's coming out of jail.
He's coming off a Nicki breakup. He's coming off of the first studio album, where he's, it's post-Drake beef, and he delivered a classic album. Big singles and big features from Cardi B, Ella Mai, and Drake. Not to mention the Jay Z verse on What’s Free. Meek Mill hit the mark when he dropped Championships, and no one can take that away from him.
