Rumor Has It
“I read somewhere that a creative’s job is to ruffle feathers, to make people feel uncomfortable. I pride myself especially when it comes to videos, to step outside the box to make people raise their eyebrows and to create a certain emotion with the people because they’re going to feel something.”
When you think of an artist who has the full package, a scorching Scorpio, and providing a rockstar esthetic; who comes to mind? It’s giving notable Atlanta-based artist, Lewnati. Originally from New Jersey or whatever, he’s been an ATLien for 3 years now and doing big things ever since. The most interesting aspect of Lewnati is his drive as an artist. When we both initially crossed each other’s paths he instilled the idea of being in love with your craft and everything else will fall into place. “At first it’s not always about how much money you can profit with as long as you’re happy doing what you love’ you’re already rich beyond measures”. Prime advice like that doesn’t always come free, but it reiterated the idea that no one can take your talent away from you; create a set foundation regarding so and keep doing what you love.
If I were to use one word to describe Lewnati’s sound it would be “eminent”, because he’s so creative with his craft. Which alludes to the image that he’s doing big things when it comes to this music stuff. The more I listen to his music, his sound reminds me of a Kid Cudi’s rockstar esthetic/album. Where it shows his range as an artist as well as being completely transparent with his lyrics resonating with the listeners with a sick beat.
“The cake detail on my cover art resonates with the original “NO! NEVER DIE” releasing on my birthday, so it was a celebratory significance for my 28th trip around the sun. The cake plays on the album originally being more rock but leaned towards alternative.”
Rumor has it Lewnati is dropping a deluxe album “NO! NEVER DIE”, which will be showcased at his album release, “The Lewnati Experience” on Saturday, June 26th, @ 8p-TIL. Prior to that, he’ll be hosting a video premiere for his single, “Never Die”. Tickets for both rendezvous will be available for purchase Sunday, May 23rd. You didn’t hear it from me but if you purchase tickets for both the video premiere and the album release, there’s a special surprise just for you showing love to the Creative Native, Lewnati.
Kiki with Lewnati
Explain the title of your album. What aspects are put into consideration when making the final decision?
The title represents encouragement towards anyone experiencing dark times. Lewnati cares if nobody else cares. It was never supposed to be a full album, just a simple 2 piece, but kept adding on and ended with a 4 song EP. Now I have the deluxe album dropping the day of the concert, with 4 new songs. NO! NEVER DIE will be my 2nd album, it’s LIT.
*May is Mental Health Awareness Month keep your mental and soul protected at all times.
If you could be in a group would you? Or do you enjoy being a solo artist?
I would love to be in a group because I didn’t always like the attention to be solely on me, but I’ve trained myself to make it do what it does. I’m such a perfectionist so the person has to match my talents and work ethic. Once I find someone to match that, we’re in business.
When it comes to the storyline of your videos, is it hard to grasp an idea? Do you run them by anyone else for validation, or mostly just all on your own?
When it comes to my videos, I create the storyboard I’m in control of casting, directing; I do all of it. I like to sit back, meditate and listen to music. Thanks to God the almighty, praise due to the most high I’m talented enough to create beautiful stories. I don’t ask anyone for validation, you either gonna like it or you not gonna like it. It’s a creative piece and I know one day you’re gonna like it.
Gemini season is approaching us. Do you have an interest in astrology? How do you feel about the quick-witted twins being a passionate Scorpio?
Gemini season is amongst us, so that being said I hate Gemini’s, but diving into my chart I am a Moon and Rising Gemini; so technically I am a Gemini with having so many of them in my life. I think they are very important in a sense of teaching me something I may not yet about myself. Shoutout to me for being a Scorpio but technically being a Gemini.
