This month’s independent artist of the month is DOMDABAP. The Harlem, New York rapper has been grinding throughout the pandemic. Now that more people are coming outside I believe that DOMDABAP will see the fruits of his labor. The United Masters artist has been releasing singles all year long. His melodic flow and stories about relationships are very relatable.
In 2021 DOMDABAP has released at least 9 songs. He’s keeping his name up in the industry and raising his stock with every record he has released. He released the song HEEL back in April. HEEL refers to the term used in professional wrestling. The HEEL is usually the bad guy, the guy the fans love to hate. In the song, DOMDABAP talks about leaving the good image alone and going full bad guy on them!
One of my favorite songs from DOMDABAP that he’s dropped recently is WAR POAM. The chorus repeating "we don’t gotta die young" makes you empathize with the artist and young people all over the world. Great message and great music. It's straight to the point. This one I could see being played on a radio station or on a playlist.
The reason DOMDABAP is this month’s independent artist of the year is that he has released a song damn near every week from February to April. He has continued to develop his craft since we spoke to him prior and now he’s sharpened his skills even more. Make sure you check out all the new music coming from DOM.
