LOOP THEORY/STOVE GOD ERA
SHOW DISCIPLINE
We’re back, happy holidays. It’s that time of year, and so is Stove God Cooks. One of the most compelling up and coming artists in the game, Stove has quietly held the title of king of the underground for the past three to four years.
He kicked the door down with Reasonable Drought, an underground classic that still gets better with time. He’s always positioned himself as a student of greatness Drake, 50 Cent and Pusha T even said Stove reminds him of Max B. That’s elite company.
This year has been big for him. And what makes Stove’s journey even more fascinating is the tug of war around him. From signing with Roc Marciano to now moving under Westside Gunn’s Griselda umbrella, it almost feels like there was a mini label war for his talent. When two of the sharpest curators in the culture want you in their circle, that says everything.
But let’s talk about “Goat Stamp.”
I’ve heard all the takes
“It sounds like a single.”
“It has that 2011 Drake feel.”
Look… the record is good. We might be overthinking it because the expectations for Stove God are sky high and rightfully so. But this is a strong record. Clean hook, sharp writing, great energy. Sometimes we just have to let a good song be a good song.
Personally, I’d love to see a video. A visual could push this one even further. And honestly? A remix could take it to a whole different level.
If there is already a video floating around, put me on .
But for now, let’s just appreciate the moment. Stove God is building toward something, and “Goat Stamp” feels like another well placed brick.
