The Queen has been taking over recently. If you’ve never heard of Mary J Blige just be ashamed of yourself I feel bad for you. She’s the Queen of Hip Hop Soul. She’s been on top of the music industry for over 20 years and is an inspiration to fans and artists.
In the past few years though, Mary has become more visible and maybe the most visible she’s been in her career. Every week you can see her on 50 Cent’s show Ghost. She performed with Snoop Dogg, Dr.Dre, Eminem, and Kendrick Lamar at the Superbowl and she recently released her soon-to-be critically acclaimed fourteenth album.
The project is entitled Good Morning Gorgeous and features Dave East, Usher, and Fivio Foreign. The project is fresh and Mary sounds in her zone while still taking chances with her music. The first song is written by Anderson Paak. This was one of the collaborations I didn’t know that I needed. Production comes from Cool & Dre, London On Da Track, and Bongo By The Way.
One of the bigger moments on the project is the title track. Good Morning Gorgeous is an amazing song that Mary Delivers with so much emotion. The song is written and produced by H.E.R. This project is one of Mary’s better albums I believe that if you a big Mary fan you will enjoy this addition to her journey.
