Medals /Benny The Butcher
Benny The Butcher is back with Tana Talk 4. Tana Talk 3 put Benny on the map nationally. This is the follow-up and it lives up. Since releasing Tana Talk 3 Benny has released numerous projects including Burden of Proof, Plugs I Met one and two, and many more projects. The Tana Talk series always seemed to be more special to Benny. Similar to The Carter with Lil Wayne Tana Talk is the premier series for Benny The Butcher.
Tana Talk 4 features production from Alchemist and Daringer. The Projects has features from Benny’s Griselda brothers Conway The Machine and Westside Gunn. Also, the project features verses from Stove God Cooks and 38 Spesh. I’m happy for Benny as he also got a verse, J. Cole, on the project.
Johnny P’s Caddy showcases Cole and Benny going verse for verse on an alchemist beat that was perfect for both artists. Benny brings cole into the Griselda world and J. Cole shines on the Alchemist production. The song was the first single from Tana Talk 4 and brought many hiphop debates about who had the verse.
This project is not a Def Jam project. This is absolutely a Griselda project and another addition to the rest of the great albums the label has produced over the years. The project is exactly what you want from Benny's insight on his life right now and responses to things that critics have been saying. A clear example of this is Tyson Vs. Ali a song featuring Conway's The Machine that speaks directly to how some fans try to create a rivalry between Conway and Benny.
My favorite song is probably Thowy’s Revenge but that’ll probably change. The project is still in rotation for me and I feel like it has a lot of depth so I’m still playing it. The project is great I can’t say yet if it’s better than TT3 but it is an amazing project. But for the love of god somebody tell what West knew not to do at the end of Mr. Chow Hall?!
