Let’s go! This one is for all the Missy Elliott fans that are down with Show Discipline Mag! I got nothing but love for the Queen Missy Misdemeanor Elliott. I want to know if it was possible to narrow down 5 of my favorite Missy Elliott songs. So shout out to her cause we celebrating a legend today.
Nicole feat. Missy Elliott & Mocha - Make It Hot
Now I know off the top I’m probably breaking the rules but because this isn’t technically Missy’s song and blah blah blah. Whatever, I love this song, plus she’s credited as a composer on the song. Everyone knows Missy can write. Can I get the reference track, please? Somebody call Timbaland.
Missy Elliott - I'm Really Hot
So this is in no kind of order because come on man, that’s crazy. Missy dropped this in 2003, the record isn’t produced by Timbaland, but the credits do say he helped write the song. They make a good combo.
SWV - Can We
I did it again. I know, but this time its SWV. Come on, give me a break. If you listen to this song and tell me you don’t hear a Missy Elliott influence your wildin’. Anyway, just another example of a great collaboration of Missy Elliott and Timbaland production.
Missy Elliott - She's A B**ch
Missy in 99 just had to stunt on everybody in the industry. The song itself is just her letting everybody know how she was coming and how she wasn’t taking any disrespect. And just to make sure we heard her, she gave us one of the most expensive videos in hip-hop history.
Missy Elliott & Da Brat - Sock It 2 Me
Missy Elliott came into the Industry and showed us she was here to stay. The Icon released one of my favorite songs, Sock It 2 Me, in 1997. I never get tired of hearing this song and sometimes get so amazed that I have to start it over. Great record!
