Pros & Cons:
Pros: As you can tell from the album’s title Heated, Li Heat is no stranger to word play. Throughout the entire project Li Heat showcases his bar-heavy Alabama style. Due to all that word play and clever punchlines the album gets more enjoyable after every listen as you find a new clever lyric that flew under your rap radar. The project is layered with other Alabama artists as well as fellow label mates of his, and each feature brings its own sound to Heat’s world as they blend seamlessly.
Cons: Even though the chemistry Li Heat possesses with each feature on his album is undeniable it would have been exciting to see Heat mix his style with some artists from different regions with truly different styles all together. Heat’s beat selection fits his flow and isn’t a repetitive beat you can find just about every rapper on, however it would have been more desirable to see his versatility and allow for some different sounding tracks and vibes to be brought out.
