Pros & Cons:
Pros: Summer let us in to her world after a public break-up and created a great album from it. On the album’s tracklist we can view the relative dates Summer Walker created each song. This allows us to follow her as she progresses to get over the damage done. The features do not take away from the personal feel to the album but instead each feature brought their own unique sound to a Summer Walker track and blended them well and only added to the experience.
Cons: Even though this album comes across as more personal than her previous projects. Summer’s previous album “Over It” made up for it’s slight lack in being overtly personal by sounding more commercially ready. And that production mixed with Summer’s voice and lyrics made that album one to remember for R&B. This album however lacked that level of production. We would have loved to see this type of real-life music be delivered to us to the same standard of “Over It”, production wise.
