SHOWIN' OFF WITH BENJAMIN NAVY

Benjamin Navy is one of the artists I feel lucky to have the opportunity to write about. He’s a very talented R&B artist. Who makes amazing and seemingly current songs about love and relationships. I feel like he’s brash in songs with his lyrics but still has a traditional R&B feel to his records. He recently released his latest project The Navy Tape on April 29th 2022.

Navy started creating music and taking his passion seriously in 2015. He began as a songwriter for other artists that were working and on the rise. He also took his dedication to music even more seriously when he decided to compete in songwriting competitions.

The Navy Tape is a great project that is seven tracks and no more than 16 mins and 10 seconds. The album starts with Want Me. Want me is a song that talks about a girl that only loves Benjamin when she’s on some kind of drug. He follows that up with the song Plug which has a great melody and gives us a chance to see how talented Benjamin Navy is as a songwriter.

The entire project is great it’s an easy listen, and the songs are very cohesive, and flow together well. My favorite song today is Money it’s got a nice soulful beat but it also sounds a little chopped and screwed. For an R&B artist to play with their vocals in that way it’s very dope. I encourage everyone to listen to The Navy Project and hopefully we’ll get more music from Benjamin Navy.
