SPEAKER BOX/LOVE BELOW
Almost twenty years ago in 2003, one of the greatest groups of all time gave us a double-disc. A real one, not a one of these I just added more songs for the streams double disc. Outkast one of the hip-hop pioneering groups executed a classic moment in history by releasing the Speakerboxxx/The Love Below.
Speakerboxxx was Big Boi’s solo and The Love below was Andre’s. In retrospect, Andre 3000 gave us a rock album about love. At the moment it was just great music with guitars and melodies. Big Boi, was rapping his ass off on his album and included some of the best rappers at the time on his album. It is different from The Love Below. They are still plenty of moments on the album.
Big Boi’s single The Way You Move was an amazing song and a great way to introduce the fans to the new album. Outkast was continuing a major run at that time. Andre’s single Hey Ya! took over the radio and the billboards. The song, for even how catchy it is, is one of the best examples of Andre 3000’s writing in my opinion.
Most media sources rated this album with 5 stars and deemed it a classic album. Some said that album set a new mark for Hiphop. I believe there are still songs that are still relevant today. Outkast was and is a group that was always trying new things and not afraid to fail. They have become a benchmark in the culture of hiphop.
